| 세션 시놉시스 (Session Synopsis) | The partnership between KDCA and Unitaid has been essential toward ensuring a healthier and safer future for all, specifically in the fight against infectious disease and ensuring equitable access to health innovation for those in most need. The COVID-19 pandemic underscored how deeply health security and economic resilience are intertwined. There is a critical need to ensure that health innovations—whether in diagnostics, digital systems, or life-saving treatments—translate into equitable and scalable access across all communities and regions worldwide. Anchored in the APEC 2025 theme, “Connect, Innovate and Prosper: Building a Healthy, Smart and Aging-Responsive Society,” and aligned with the World Bio Summit 2025 theme, “From Innovation to Access: Health Innovation for Everyone, Everywhere,” this joint event—led by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) and Unitaid—will highlight how innovation in public health can drive equity. It will emphasize that breakthrough technologies must be supported by smart policies, effective financing, and strong cross-sector partnerships—including with the private sector—to ensure no one is left behind. By bringing together policymakers, funders, global health experts and innovators, this event will explore how health innovation can help build smarter, healthier, and more resilient societies. The event will highlight collaborative strategies for promoting equitable access to health tools, and ensuring cost-effective healthcare responses in low- and middle-income countries. |
