Through these new applications we can now achieve a more comprehensive understanding of molecular changes contributing to disease. This level of insight paves the way to the implementation of a precision health approach, where treatments are informed by the biology of disease and an individual's genetic blueprint to improve outcomes.
Genomics based personalized medicine and health programs can help match patients to treatments, reduce disease burden, improve quality of life, increase survival rates, and reduce the cost of care.
